My Work Method

Mooren | Interior Design creates bespoke interiors that are both functional and inspiring. Whether designing a hotel, restaurant, office, or private residence, every project begins with a deep understanding of the client, the end user, and the unique identity and DNA of the space.

From the initial concept and design development to project execution and final delivery, I manage the entire process with a focus on quality, creativity, and attention to detail, ensuring every interior is tailored to its purpose and exceeds expectations.

Concept design

Every collaboration begins with the concept phase, where I translate the client's vision, wishes, and lifestyle into a distinctive design concept. By carefully analysing the project's identity, functional requirements, and aesthetic ambitions, I create a strong foundation that guides the entire design process.

Through curated mood boards, material references, colour palettes, first sketches, and spatial ideas, the overall look and feel of the project begins to take shape. During this stage, different design directions are explored and refined in close collaboration with the client, ensuring the concept is both inspiring and aligned with the project's goals.

The approved concept serves as the creative framework for the following design phases, providing a clear vision that informs every decision.

Preliminary Design

Once the concept has been approved, the ideas are developed into a preliminary design. During this phase, the overall design is refined and translated into 2D and 3D drawings, including floor plans, elevations, sections, and wall and ceiling plans.

The preliminary design defines the spatial layout, material direction, and overall design intent, providing a clear understanding of the project before moving into the technical detailing. Depending on the project's scope, this phase may also include indicative lighting concepts, furniture layouts, and custom design elements.

The approved preliminary design serves as the foundation for the technical design and execution phases, ensuring that every subsequent step is based on a well-developed and carefully considered design.

Final Design | Supervision

Following the approval of the preliminary design, the project is developed into a final design. In this phase, every element is technically detailed and documented, including material specifications, bespoke joinery, lighting and electrical plans, and all drawings required for pricing and execution. The final design provides contractors and suppliers with a clear and comprehensive set of documents to ensure the design can be realised with precision.

A successful project, however, goes beyond the final design. To ensure the design is executed exactly as intended, I remain closely involved throughout the realisation phase. I coordinate with suppliers, craftsmen, contractors, and interior builders, maintaining clear communication and careful attention to every detail.

Depending on the project's requirements, I provide site supervision, monitor progress on location, and guide the entire construction process through to completion.
